parent traps

anyone whose close to me knows that my parents though we may all live in the same house are not on speaking terms...[fade into tra la la mode]

so here i was at work today - i now work for my dad -
sitting at my table i overheard him calling the dressmaker "uh the dress that my wife made, is it ready?"
how friggin weird is it to hear that when i know :
1- my parents totally ignore each other; and
2- my mum doesnt get dresses made

so i asked him point blank "so, is there any other woman in your life now?" and he just sez "no." without even blinking once.
why is it that my father feels the nid to lie to me and cover up when i m the only other adult who knows of his wayward ways and yet not write him off.

i should most prolly tell him that i saw him with the other woman too huh?

but hey i guess he likes to be in denial and think that his little girl doesnt know the ways of the world and definitely not the ways of a wayward man...man his denial power is strong
